Our Wine Selection
Great wine comes from well-maintained and cared-for grapes, which is why we focus on the careful tending of our vineyard. Located in the heart of central Minnesota, Jomas Hill is home to 4 acres of Minnesota cold-hardy Marquette and Itasca vines along with Petite Pearl. Our wine is produced in limited quantities using traditional wine making practices. The wines are different from year to year depending on environmental factors. Our wines have a collective profile of qualities that the growing environment at Jomas Hill imparts on the grapes that become the wine you will enjoy. We invite you to join us in re-connecting with the land that provides for us and enjoy some of the best Minnesota wine produced in central Minnesota.

Marquette 2021*

Our 2021 Marquette presents with a deep ruby color, fruit forward aromas followed by bold tastes of cherry, pepper and vanilla. Its mild yet smooth approach is compliments of the near-perfect growing conditions during the 2021 season. Thriving in warm sunlight, the Jomas Hill Marquette provides good balance with a long finish.

Voyager’s Red Blend 2022

In winemaking, balance is everything. Our Voyager’s Red Blend is named in honor of our granddaughter, Anna, and her ability to achieve balance in the day-to-day. In daring to be a little different, we combined the uniqueness of our Marquette with Petite Syrah: the depth of flavor of Petite Syrah with a spiciness and aroma of our Marquette for a beautifully balanced red blend. Cheers for forging a new path, all while maintaining balance!
Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

Handcrafted at Jomas Hill, our Cabernet Sauvignon is ruby-rich in color. Paired with a complex earthy array of red fruit, spice, oak, and a touch of caramel, our Cabernet Sauvignon offers a robust taste with tannin present, yet is well-balanced with a round and smooth finish.
Petite Pearl 2021

2021 was an excellent growing season: dry and warm weather meant the grapes could fully mature on the vine. Due to the high quality of the grapes, we chose whole cluster fermentation which allowed the wine to stay with the grape skins for an extended time, providing for a rich color and flavor. The pairing of fruit forward aromas followed by tastes of blackberry and cherry will leave you wanting more. A nice long finish awaits at the end of the glass.
Syrah 2021

Handcrafted at Jomas Hill, Syrah is a medium bodied wine that gives aromas of violet and berries along with coffee. The wine offers an array of tastes that will appeal to a wide variety of wine enthusiasts! Enjoy a nice finish of a long smooth mouthfeel.
Marquette 2022

Our 2022 Marquette was 100% whole cluster processed, adding to its complex taste of cherry and spice. The whole cluster process allows the young wine to stay with the grape skins for an extended time, providing for rich color and flavor. The additional tannin enriches the mouthfeel and gives a nice balance of taste and finish.
Petite Pearl Reserve 2021

2021 was an excellent growing season: dry and warm weather meant the grapes could fully mature on the vine. Due to the high quality of the grapes, we chose whole cluster fermentation which allowed the wine to stay with the grape skins for an extended time, providing for a rich color and flavor. The reserve was barreled in a new French Oak barrel for 10 months, which adds to the complexity of the wine.
Vinnie’s Red 2021

Jomas Hills Vinnie’s Red is a pairing of Marquette and Petite Pearl. Vinnie was our beloved Golden Retriever at the time we planted the Marquette vines. He roamed the vineyard chasing away deer and kept us company during vineyard work. Our Marquette and Petite Pearl vines grow side-by-side at Jomas Hill, so it only seems fitting that we name our blend of companion wines after Vinnie. Expect aromas of red and black fruit with balanced mouthfeel creating a long finish.
Whites
Itasca 2022

Ah, sunshine in a bottle! Our Itasca has citrus profiles of lemon and lime with a touch of lingering honey, perfect for summer sipping. The 2022 growing season provided the vines with adequate rainfall to sustain themselves, and ample heat and sunlight to bring the fruit to maturity. The dryness of the season kept the vines and fruit healthy allowing the grapes to express the best of what they are made of.
Rosé 2022

Our 2022 Rosé is one-of-kind! We used a portion of our Marquette crop, which were picked, destemmed, crushed and pressed all in one day. Take note of its light red color and similar, yet lighter, aroma and taste to our traditional Marquette.
Chardonnay 2022

Jomas Hill’s handcrafted Chardonnay spent a brief time in barrels to capture a hint of oak. This allowed the grapes to reveal its true aroma and tastes. With a touch of dryness, notice the mild approach and smooth finish.
Riesling 2022

Handcrafted at Jomas Hill, our Riesling boasts a green apple aroma and flavors with a crisp and light feel. Great to pair with a mild cheese, a summer breeze, and good friends.
Grüner Veltliner 2023

Produced on-site at Jomas Hill, our light and crisp Grüner Veltliner offers notes of pear, apple, citrus, and floral tones. This refreshing yet bright semi-dry white wine is the perfect pairing with seafood, poultry, and pasta dishes. It has a nice balance with a lingering smooth finish.
